If I could convey my greatest wish to each client before a family session it would be to come and focus on being together. I would not say come prepared to smile, or get into any pose that I am asking. In fact, it would probably be the opposite. “Togetherness” really means to come to a family session ready to laugh and giggle, be playful and really remember how much fun you can have with one another. I shoot for authenticity in each session. Through my lens I see that families come together by the love they share, the moments they giggle, the way they know how to tease or push each others buttons, the “inside jokes” they laugh at. In these moments, I think we can all feel some sense of security knowing that the people whom we are most together with, are those that can fill a space in our hearts and mind that no one else can. They are the ones that make us feel grounded and whole, the foundation of our childhood.
“My home is filled with toys, has fingerprints on everything and is never quiet. My hair is usually a mess and I’m always tired, but there is always love and laughter. In 20 years my children won’t remember the house or my hair, but they will remember the time we spent together and the love they felt” -anonymous…but seriously could be me! or you! or this wonderful family below!
My wish for each family session is to put aside everything you have on your mind. Spend the entire time showing the love you have to give, and you will forever cherish the images that show the connection and depth of your hearts. Each child of yours that looks at these images will feel the wholeness in their heart because they were loved.Looking to capture a bit of your family love?
