What makes this photography different?

Candid school photography, with a big splash of personality, and invaluable attention to detail, is a rapidly growing movement in our region – and I’m excited that your school has chosen to participate! Parents have become very tired of posed portraits and many families are craving an opportunity for something more custom.

More professional. More authentic. More memorable.

There will be nothing forced, as we are looking for natural expressions, which will range from serious and pensive to sweet and silly. The solid dark background keeps the focus solely on the child’s face and expression.

For an extra fun time, have your child come prepared with a joke for US! 🙂

How does the process go?

We’ve got all the details before and during shoot day covered! After shoot day, your child will arrive home with a code for a gallery proofing website. Enter your email and your child’s picture code into the web address provided on their card to view your personal gallery of images. If the images are not ready, you will then be preregistered for notification the moment they are live. Notice that you can enter more than one code so that you can view all of your children’s images together. Once the images are ready, you will be able to view a private gallery of your child’s or children’s images. Packages, prints, and some customizable products may be added to your cart and online payment accepted.

This paper will come home to you on picture day! With year 2020 finally upon us, EVERYTHING is now done online!

What should my child wear?

These images are shot chest-up against a solid dark backdrop. Tops that are light-colored or bright-colored are best. Please avoid tops that are dark, navy, or black, or ones that have large graphics, logos, or print. And please no neon colors! For girls, small bows, headbands or barretts at the side of the head photograph better than large bows on top of the head. Small details at the sleeves, neck, and collar photograph well for these sessions. You can also think about a top that makes your child’s eye color pop! Consider allowing your child to select a favorite outfit within these parameters to capture even more of their personality!

One last thing…

Your child’s privacy is important to us! Everyone will be photographed at the school. However, I occasionally like to post a sneak peek on social media from my photo day at a particular school or add new kids’ photos to my website and marketing materials. If you would be willing to give me permission to include your child’s photo (never any names) for these purposes, please complete the following release form. Thank you so much!
