Funny moment…A few months before this day my mother had a dream…or what she refers to as much more of a nightmare. She dreamt that I handed her the camera and told her to take a picture. She did, I looked in the back of the camera at her snapshot, and then she recalls that I scolded her (again, in her dream) for not shooting what I was calling the “heart” of the photo. How could she not have shot the “Heart?!?” I laughed so hard when she retold me this story- I couldn’t believe this was a real fear that she had…thinking she would disappoint me, and second, because I just never really thought about the construction of my photographs…but it does entirely revolve around heart and light…sometimes more heart, sometimes more light, sometimes equal parts.
HEART + LIGHT = GREAT IMAGES
It is so important to have artistic influence in your life. In fact, I am collecting my list of the artists that I find most inspiring now, but it is most important to shoot what you love, how you see it, and what you care about…For me, it means shooting entirely from your gut….documenting a bit about your life, the love your have, the beauty you see.
These photographs were taken while my oldest was at soccer practice…such a beautiful and free moment for the 2nd and 4th child while running around waiting on the 1st and 3rd children in their activities. Thanks to my Kelly Moore bag, I carry my camera everywhere with me…so grateful for having it by my side and seeing the light and the heart between these two!
